11 things to do in the Canandaigua area this week

Visiting Ontario County's seven parks is among the activities to cross off on anyone's must-do list.

One thing you can do this week, in addition to taking a dip in Canandaigua Lake at Deep Run Park in Gorham or enjoying the views at Gannett Hill in Bristol Hills, is to help shape the future of these and the county's other recreational gems at an open house Thursday at the Finger Lakes Community College Geneva campus, 63 Pulteney St.

Visitors will have an opportunity to learn about the planning process and provide feedback on county recreational facilities and offerings as well as help guide decision-making over the next 10 to 20 years.

The community can also take a public survey and provide thoughts and desires for the parks. Questions on the survey cover issues such as barriers to participation, facility needs, user satisfaction, and public outreach. The Ontario County Parks and Recreation Master Plan survey can be accessed at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/OntarioCoParks.
