Here are 10 of the top-rated food trucks heading to City Park's food truck rally

Is it truly summer in Fort Collins if you don't brave City Park's food truck rally at least once?

The FoCo Food Truck Rally kicked its new season off this week and plans to host a rotation of 44 food trucks along City Park's Sheldon Drive each Tuesday from 5:30 p.m. to dusk through Sept. 19.

The rally will bring about 18 food trucks and trailers to the park each week, posting its weekly lineup to its Facebook page. Not sure what to pick? Here are 10 food trucks and trailers featured at this year's rally that netted high reviews on Yelp.

Ba-Nom-a-Nom (4.5 stars)

The Ba-Nom-a-Nom treat truck specializes in "nice cream" — or soft-serve frozen fruit. Its offerings are all free of dairy, gluten and fat, and are vegan with no added sugar.

Backyard Bird Chicken + Donuts (4.5 stars)

Satisfy your sweet tooth and savory cravings at Backyard Bird. The fried chicken food truck — and predecessor of Timnath's Backyard Bird restaurant — dishes up chicken sandwiches, waffle fries, homemade doughnuts and more.

Corndoggies (4 stars)

Hand-battered artisan corndogs? Say no more. Not another word. Corndoggies is a Fort Collins food truck classic. Now with a fleet of trucks, Corndoggies serves up classic and not-so-classic corndogs — think a corndog filled with mac and cheese, a sweet breakfast sausage corndog or options with smoked Cajun-style andouille or mole-spiced chicken sausages.

Meat-, cheese- and veggie-filled flatbreads are the name of the game at La Piadina, a decade-old Fort Collins food truck that sandwiches Italian flavors in handmade flatbreads. While a regular at the FoCo Food Truck Rally and various other stops around town, La Piadina also put down roots with a physical location in Fort Collins' The Exchange back in 2019.

Pierogies Factory (4.5 stars)

Based out of Denver, Pierogies Factory's food truck will be on the road this summer — and making stops at the FoCo Food Truck Rally. The truck dishes up traditional Polish meals, from pierogies to cabbage rolls to kielbasa sausage.

Roll It Up Sushi Truck (4.5 stars)

Like Pierogies Factory, Roll It Up Sushi Truck is trekking up from Denver for the FoCo Food Truck Rally this season, offering up street sushi, poke bowls, and chicken and veggie dumplings.

The Cupcake Gypsies (5 stars)

Cupcakes in a vintage camper? Yes, please! The Cupcake Gypsies are bringing their whimsical trailer and fresh-baked cupcakes to City Park this summer. If you miss them there, you can also head to Loveland where they opened a brick-and-mortar bakery back in 2019.

The Waffle Lab (4 stars)

Another Fort Collins classic is headed to City Park for this year's FoCo Food Truck Rally. The Waffle Lab, which started more than a decade ago, serves up Belgian-style Liege waffles with a twist — think chicken and waffles; waffle grilled cheese; and sweet options loaded with berries, chocolate, Nutella and more. Have a craving on a non-rally day? Visit The Waffle Lab's brick-and-mortar location at 130 W. Olive St. in Fort Collins.

Umami Mobile Eatery (4 stars)

Summer in City Park is not complete without shamelessly scarfing down at least one plate of Umami's Thai nachos. The Fort Collins-based food trailer rounds out the rally's range of cuisines with Asian eats like its seared edamame, customizable rice or noodle ninja bowls, Umami tacos, seared dumplings and, of course, Thai nachos drizzled in the trailer's Thai peanut sauce.

Walrus Ice Cream (4 stars)

Known for its long-lived Mountain Avenue ice cream shop, Walrus Ice Cream went mobile several years ago with its very own ice cream trailer.
