Traffic is backed up on Interstate 10 West near Downtown El Paso as police responded to an incident.

All lanes of I-10 West were closed to traffic about 1 p.m. Thursday, El Paso Police Department officials said.

Traffic was backed up past Piedras Street in Central El Paso.

Motorists are urged to use an alternative route.
