When people talk about pork and politics, they’re usually not discussing the edible kind — which is a shame. Here’s a way to make up for it on Wednesday, 4 p.m. at 435 S. McDonough St., Montgomery, in the back parking lot. It’s the 13th annual Legislative Appreciation & Road Kill BBQ. No, road kill’s not actually on the menu… at least we hope not. Local unions and labor councils from all over Alabama will be cooking up pork, chicken, fish, ribs, turkey and camp stew. This is an event from Alabama AFL-CIO to show their appreciation to their legislative delegation and state elected officials. The plan is for a group of grillers to be working under a tent. They plan to have guests going to the different grilling stations to get food, and then go to a tent area to sit and eat. Live entertainment begins at 5 p.m. Learn more about the event by calling 334-834-1061.
