100 customers get free pizza for a year from Cicis Pizza in Gastonia
The Gastonia location of Cicis Pizza had a line of eager customers waiting at the door when they opened Tuesday.
The restaurant announced the week prior that it would be giving out free pizza for a year to the first 100 people in the store from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Feb. 6.
At a second event later in the evening, Cicis offered 25 cent poppers, free $5 game cards with the purchase of a kid’s combo, and wings for 50 cents.
Customers visiting during the morning event also received free Cicis-themed gear, including a Cicis bag, sunglasses, water bottle, wristbands, and more, according to one of the first customers of the day Cassandra Maddox.
Maddox drove 30 minutes from her home in Cleveland County to attend the opening, and began waiting in line at 9:45 a.m., she said.
“As far as I could see when I was there, probably we had about maybe 30 people in line at first around 9:45 a.m. and then after that, at 11, I will say, we probably had close to about 50 to 100,” Maddox said.
Maddox was already a customer of Cicis Pizza, and will be back at the Gastonia location once every month for the next year to claim her free buffet meal, she said.
Cicis Pizza is open from 11 a.m. - 10 p.m. seven days a week and is located at 3746 E. Franklin Boulevard.
