100 Professional Black Men in Black to assemble for downtown Fayetteville photo shoot

After the success of the 100 Professional Black Women in Black event, organizer Tiffany Campbell has set her sights on a new goal of gathering 100 Professional Black Men in Black.

The event is set to take place Saturday at Segra Stadium, 460 Hay St., Fayetteville.

The men are asked to meet at Segra Stadium, where they will have time to network before the group photo shoot. The group will then make its way to the Cumberland County Courthouse, a half-mile from the stadium, for more group photos.

Campbell said it was easier to assemble the men because they had seen the impact of the women's event.

"Most of the men had seen what we had done as women," Campbell said. "With the women, they just had to believe in my dream, but the men have already seen my vision."

Campbell said many fraternities and community groups, such as Brother Strong and the Tulsa Initiative, have reached out and plan to attend the event.

"I've seen the strong network the men have already established," she said. "Having these men in these different networking circles has been one of the greatest experiences in my life."

About 215 men have already signed up for the event as of Monday, according to Campbell.

In January, Campbell organized the event 100 Professional Black Women Dressed in Black. More than 150 professional women from the community arrived and took downtown Fayetteville by storm. The women were seen around the historic Market House joining hands and singing to display their unity.

Campbell expects double the turnout for the upcoming men's event after the success of the women's event.
