Blue Collar chicken club and zucchini fries hit the spot

Something great on my plate

Clyde's Blue Collar Bistro chicken club is a gut-filling masterpiece of fine fried food.
Clyde's Blue Collar Bistro chicken club is a gut-filling masterpiece of fine fried food.

Growing up in a family full of manufacturing workers, I'm all about getting a hearty lunch that will get me back out there working.

The Blue Collar Bistro crispy chicken club is exactly what a hard worker needs at the end of a job. Sure, the heaviest thing I'm lifting, in my day job, is my laptop bag, but it wasn't always that way. There was summer roofing, helping my dad with electrical jobs and several jobs moving stone and brick. I still love chopping wood, but today it's mostly for the fire pit in the back yard. Regardless, I still enjoy eating.

The photo makes it look like the side to that giant fried chicken breast sandwich, with thick-cut bacon, is regular French fries, but it really is fried zucchini spears. Go ahead, tell your cardiologist that the fried food is balanced by all the vegetables. That's what I did.

Blue Collar Bistro is at 111 North Main St., Clyde.
