A team of fleet-of-foot and deftly moving individuals are to showcase “The Ninja Experience,” a new daily attraction at the 2022 Franklin County Fair.

The 105th Franklin County Fair is scheduled to open July 18 at the Franklin County Fairgrounds, 4100 Columbia St. in Hilliard.

The seven-day fair runs July 18-24 and is open 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. July 18-21, 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. July 22 and 23 and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. July 23.

Rides do not start up until noon each day, except at 11 a.m. July 20.

Daily-admission tickets are $10. Children ages 2 and under do not require a ticket.

Advance tickets for $9 can be purchased from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays through July 17 at the fairgrounds’ business office.

Parking is free at lots adjacent to gates three, four and five, off Northwest Parkway.

Gary Fellure, president of the Franklin County Agriculture Society, said the fair organizers strive to plan a fair with events that appeal to the cross-section of patrons who visit each year.

“Our Franklin County Fair is a reflection of the wonderful and diverse communities that make up our county. From agriculture to art, from entertainment to education, this year’s fair showcases it all,” Fellure said. “Our volunteer board has worked tirelessly to create a safe, family-friendly event with attractions that appeal to all ages and interests.”

Those attractions include the Ninja Experience, a new daily attraction “where parkour meets ninja-warrior in a high-flying stage experience,” said Stephanie Rauschenbach, a spokeswoman for the Franklin County Fair.

The attraction, with two shows July 18-21 and 24 and three shows July 22 and 23, is free with admission to the fair.

Other free daily attractions include a hands-on live fishing experience, magician David Anthony and strolling performances from Max Power and Nitro.

Other entertainment, including those at the grandstand, require an additional ticket purchase and include harness racing July 18, KOI Dirt Drag Racing on July 19, the Central Ohio Truck Pull Circuit and Central Ohio Tractor Pullers Association on July 21, MTRL’s Monster Truck Thrill Show on July 22 and Smash It Demolition Derby on July 23.

Midway rides require the purchase of an unlimited ride wristband for $20.

Wristbands are $15 on July 20, Family Fun Day, and on the final day of the fair, July 24.

July 21 is Military Appreciation Day. Active military members, veterans and those with government identification are admitted free and receive a ride wristband.
