$10K in damages after detached storage shed fire in De Pere

DE PERE, Wis. (WFRV) – A detached storage shed fire in De Pere caused around $10,000 in damages on Friday morning.

According to the De Pere Fire Department, firefighters were sent to the 800 block of West Gile Circle at around 11:00 a.m. for a report of a small shed on fire.

Units arrived on the scene and found a small, detached shed located in the address’s backyard. The shed was located around 30 feet from the house and five feet from a wood fence.

Crews were able to extinguish the fire quickly and prevent any further damage to adjacent properties. Due to the size of the fire, damage was done to the siding of the home, the fence of the neighboring properties, and a trampoline.

The shed, equipment, and materials in the shed are a total loss.

The homeowner was home at the time of the fire and was able to evacuate her residence and call the authorities. No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported. However, around $10,000 of damages were caused.

Due to the unknown nature of the cause of the fire, the Brown County Investigation Task Force was requested to go to the scene, and they’re continuing to investigate.
