10TV meteorologist Jeff Booth leaving morning shift for more time with family
Jeff Booth, a meteorologist with WBNS-TV (Channel 10) who worked the morning shift, is leaving his job.
"A lot of you might be wondering where I have been over the past few days. I'm leaving 10TV and the field of broadcasting for a while," he announced late Sunday on social media.
"I enjoy bringing you the weather every morning, but I need (to) step back, spend some time with the family and get some much needed rest," Booth posted.
The station hired Booth in 2016. Previously, he was the chief meteorologist at WKEF–WRGT in Dayton, according to TVSpy, which covers the local TV news industry.
History of 10TV:10TV through the years
At the time, Booth indicated his excitement at moving back to Columbus.
“What’s better is that I get to come work for the station that I, along with my family, grew up watching. My mom is really happy as well. Now she can watch her ‘baby’ on TV," he told TVSpy.
Neither Booth nor General Manager John Cardenas immediately returned calls for comment.

Columbus raised, Booth often discussed science and esoteric weather facts.
"I don't know if this is goodnight or goodbye to the industry, but thanks for all the love over the years," Booth said on his Twitter and Facebook accounts.
