Hollyoaks is back with a bang next week, with a huge new mystery reverberating through the village.

As the village residents are questioned in present day, flashback scenes to Scott and Mitchell's wedding offer an insight into some shocking developments that unfolded.

It's important to note that the episodes airing on Monday, September 7, Tuesday, September 8 and Wednesday, September 9 are filled with flashback scenes from the wedding – filmed in March before the UK lockdown – which show a dramatic turn of events.

Without further ado, here's a full collection of the 11 biggest spoilers coming up:

1. A time jump reveals a shocking crime

As Hollyoaks returns in the present day, it will soon become clear that a shocking crime occurred in the months prior.

Felix, Martine, Diane, Scott and Walter are among those being interrogated by police, as they recall their version of events on Scott and Mitchell's fateful wedding day.

With plenty of mystery surrounding what the characters are talking about, Hollyoaks then flashes back to the day of the wedding to fill us in. But what exactly has happened and who was responsible?

2. Walter struggles to accept Mitchell's relationship

Having been tipped off by Toby, flashback scenes will see Walter refuses to accept that his grandson Mitchell will be marrying a man.

When Scott and Walter lock horns as a result, a stressed Mitchell starts to get cold feet…

3. Toby is left furious

With Scott and Mitchell's wedding hanging by a thread, a delighted Toby revels in the trouble he has caused.

However, Celeste's conscience gets the better of her and she tasks herself with trying to get Scott and Mitchell's nuptials back on track.

Furious that Celeste is seemingly more focused on playing happy families now instead, Toby's mood takes a dark turn when he fears she has jeopardised their revenge plan.

4. Joel and Walter have a heart to heart

Still struggling to process Mitchell's impending marriage, Walter has a heart to heart with Joel. As the men of cloth have an honest discussion, Joel tries to convince Walter to attend his grandson's wedding after all.

Ultimately realising that he can't miss out on such an important day, Walter arrives just in time to see Mitchell and Scott walk down the aisle.

5. Mitchell and Scott tie the knot…

As Mitchell and Scott say their vows, further flashback scenes will see one of the triplets see red – furious that their brother is getting his happy ending once again.

As the party gets started, Mitchell discovers that Toby tried to sabotage the wedding, sparking a huge bust up.

6. But the wedding descends into disaster

Wanting to escape all the chaos of the wedding, Mitchell goes for a lie down – as one of the siblings sneaks into the incriminating Room 13.

Mitchell is nowhere to be seen when Damon announces the first dance, prompting Scott to wonder where his new husband is.

We then see one of the triplets horrified to discover that there has been a disastrous mix-up. What has happened?

7. Felix is torn between Martine and Lisa

We last saw Felix keeping it in the family by two-timing Martine and Lisa, and he's very much still in a pickle when we catch up with him next week.

While Martine is blissfully unaware that Felix is two-timing her with her niece. Grace discovers what he's up to and warns him that it's bound to blow up in his face.

Through flashback scenes of the wedding, fans will see that Felix is still torn between Martine and Lisa, but is given food for thought when Grace implores him to go for the least complicated option. Who will Felix choose?

8. James mocks John Paul and George

James's story is one that picks up very much in the present day, as he struggles to hide his feelings over John Paul's new romance.

James smirks as he listens to John Paul and George and can't help stating that the couple have nothing in common.

With James's words ringing in their ears, John Paul is left feeling rejected by George later on. Has James's meddling come between them?

9. Diane is left mortified over Tony

Flashback scenes to the wedding will also offer an insight into Diane's ongoing struggles over Tony's out of character behaviour.

Diane will be left mortified when Tony, who is still being drugged with testosterone by Edward, has another very public outburst.

Unable to cope with much more, Diane puts her foot down and bans Tony from the wedding. Tony's predicament then gets even worse when Edward puts another nail in the coffin.

10. Felix hides a secret

As the Chester residents face a tough interrogation from the police in present day, it'll start to become obvious that Felix may have something to hide.

With the net closing in, Felix is determined to find answers about what really happened on the night of the wedding and a flashback reveals that he could have some damning evidence. What does he know about what happened?

11. Tony reveals some shocking news

After Verity finds Tony in a vulnerable state, a flashback to the day of the wedding shows him revealing some shocking news to Diane.

Feeling optimistic, Tony then whisked Diane off to the bedroom, but what did he tell her before that?

Hollyoaks makes its return on Monday, September 7 at 6.30pm on Channel 4. The next episode then airs at 7pm on E4 that evening.
