The annual SIHH (Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie) and Baselworld shows, respectively held in Geneva and Basel, are not for the faint of heart. With watches and fine jewelry aplenty on display, each brand seeks to outdo its previous years’ performance and engender a certain “wow” factor. This year’s shows, taken in by Vogue’s Jewelry Editor Grace Givens, did so by offering unexpected twists on classic, tried-and-true timepieces, whether that be an oversize watch face, unexpected embellishment, or novel strap.
