11-year-old child hit by car in Pittsburgh’s Carrick neighborhood, police investigating

An 11-year-old child was hit by a car in Pittsburgh’s Carrick neighborhood, according to Pittsburgh Public Schools.

Allegheny County 911 confirmed police and EMS were called to the 2300 block of Brownsville Road at 2:50 p.m.

The child is a student at South Brook Middle School and was hit by a car while picking up a younger sibling from Pittsburgh Concord Elementary.

The child was alert and conscious and was taken to a hospital, according to the district.

Pittsburgh police are investigating.
