11 TV Hill: Right to Learn Act calls on funding scholarship program

Republicans call it a mistake to cut funding for the BOOST scholarship program. Eastern Shore Delegate Jefferson Ghrist, R-District 36, is the sponsor of House Bill 737, or the Right to Learn Act, which calls for increased funding of the BOOST program. The program provides children of low-income families scholarships to attend private and parochial schools. Gov. Wes Moore's current budget calls for a cut to the program, something Maryland's Republican caucus wants to prevent.
