12 Cobb students awarded Burger King Foundation scholarships

Jun. 22—GPS Hospitality, a franchise with more than 400 Burger King restaurants, announced in a news release that it will award 12 Cobb County students with $1,000 from the Burger King Foundation.

Scholarships are awarded to graduating high school seniors based on their grade point average, community service, financial need and work experience, according to a news release. Burger King employees and family members pursuing a traditional secondary education are also eligible for scholarships.

The Burger King Foundation scholarships are funded completely through guest donations at local restaurants.

"We are passionate about making a positive, local impact," President of GPS Hospitality Michael Lippert said in a news release. "I am proud of our team members who drive in-store donations that support the Burger King Foundation Scholarship program.
