12 first-year Lake Region State College awarded presidential scholarship
Twelve first-year students attending Lake Region State College have been awarded the Florence Lake Presidential Scholarship, including two Devils Lake students.
The scholars were recently recognized at a banquet held by the Community College Foundation. This year’s recipients include:

Mayson Brown of Hibbing, Minn.
Skyler Bergstrom of Grand Forks
Samuel Roberts of Melbourne, Australia
Allison Panchot of Jamestown
Johnathon Thompson of Driscoll
Macale Fischer of Dickinson
Dawson Biby of Munich
Ryan Boesl of Langdon
Holden Gault of Minot
The scholarship is a $4,000-a-year award offered to first-time, full-time, first-year students who earned an ACT of 28 or higher and also displayed leadership and community involvement in their community and school.
The scholarship helps provide funding for two years of education and is available for students who maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher at the end of each academic year.
Recipients are encouraged to demonstrate leadership skills at LRSC by participating in student leadership activities such as the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, Student Senate, Royal Ambassadors, or other approved initiatives.
