Deputies witnessed two females and one male running up the embankment screaming for help. It was discovered that a 12-year-old boy was trapped inside the submerged vehicle.

Several people, including several law enforcement officers from different agencies and a courageous citizen, jumped into the water to get the boy out of the vehicle.

Clear Creek said the boy was trapped between a boulder and the vehicle. Clear Creek deputies were able to lift the vehicle enough for another law enforcement officer to remove the victim.

Several attempts at resuscitation were made, but the 12-year-old boy was pronounced dead upon arrival at a local hospital.
