Ultimate Halloween Fest

WHAT: Louisville's biggest Halloween celebration takes place at three locations featuring live performances, music, spooky movies, food from the Legend at Pope Lick Outpost, beverages from West Sixth Brewing, a jack-o'-lantern light show, indoor escape games and interactive activities.

  • Pope Lick Park: Features: Dr. Creeper’s Spookshow Spectacular: a theatrical performance featuring scary tales, magic, and horror (Fridays Sept. 30-Oct. 21, 8-11 p.m.). Oktoberfest: Music by Derby City Polkatz, Young Frankenstein movie and Teddy bear donation (Oct. 1), Great Pumpkin Night: pumpkin picking and decorating and "Addams Family" movie (Oct. 8). Chili cookoff and tasting, music by Nick Dittmeier & Sawdusters, "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" movie (Oct. 15). American Horrorplex

WHAT: Screams fill the air as you wait your turn to explore the haunted halls, wander through a maze of maniacs, and try to escape with your mind and soul intact.

WHERE: 2012 Northwestern Parkway

WHEN: 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays now through Oct. 29.

Baxter Avenue Morgue

WHAT: The Baxter Avenue Morgue is celebrating 20 years of fear and is made up of low ceilings, tight corridors, long hallways. It's dark and many lighting effects are used, including strobe lights. Don't touch their actors but there is a chance they might touch you.

WHERE: 451 Baxter Ave.

WHEN: 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays, now through Oct. 29; Sundays, 8-11 p.m. Oct. 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 and Monday, Oct. 31.

Boo Lou Trolley Tour

WHAT: Louisville has a rich history dating back to 1778 that is full of spirits. On this trolley tour, hear stories and see sites that will captivate the mind and its haunted history. Areas to include downtown Louisville, Old Louisville, a brief stop at the Highland's Molly Malone's Irish Pub, and Louisville's Waterfront Wharf.

WHAT: Scaring visitors since 1985, the Culbertson Mansion’s annual haunted house is full of thrills and chills taking place in the mansion’s Carriage House. After the mansion was auctioned off, the Carriage House fell into disuse, but dark legends abound concerning fires, spiritual activity and even demonic possession.
