120 Milwaukee Bars, Restaurants Now Have No-Limit Dining
MILWAUKEE, WI — More than 100 Milwaukee restaurants, bars and coffee shops have been given city approval to reopen with no dining limit restrictions — inside or outside — according to the Milwaukee health department.
Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers and Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett issued statewide and local "safer at home" orders for March 25. Those orders began a stretch of several months that shut down local restaurants, bars, coffee shops and numerous other establishments in order to slow the spread of COVID-19.
Local establishments were allowed to reopen gradually starting in the early summer months with notable restrictions on hours, seating capacity among other safety protocols.
In July, the Milwaukee Health Department presented a plan to local establishments, requiring them to issue a COVID-19 safety plan if they wanted to reopen without in-person dining restrictions. As of Sep 8, a total of 120 establishments have been granted the no-limit approval.
