"In the case of the Izyum mass grave — unfortunately, people were buried there improperly, and the condition of the bodies is very bad — we still have 122 unidentified victims who died as a result of Russian aggression," Bolvinov said.

He noted that DNA profiles of all the victims have been obtained, and the investigation hopes the relatives of the victims will come forward.

On Sept. 15, mass graves were discovered in a forest belt on the territory of Izyum, following the area’s liberation from Russian occupation by Ukrainian forces.

At the time, Bolvinov, said that about 440 graves had been found near the war-torn town in eastern Ukraine following its liberation by the Ukrainian military.
