123 graduates finish their time at Albany High School

ALBANY — Albany High School had its second in-person graduation ceremony in a row on Friday night.

The school's 2022 graduation ceremony in the school's gymnasium Friday night saw 123 graduates receive their diplomas.

The four co-valedictorians were Joran Carlson, Kayla Hahn, Rebecca Iverson and Emily Spainer with salutatorian Peyton Krumrei. Hahn held the closing remarks during the ceremony.

"Thank you staff and teachers for being our biggest supporters through it all. To the parents guardians and families, thank you for raising my classmates to be the most amazing young adults," Hahn said.

Sonya Hoffarth, a language arts teacher, spoke about the many personal journals students wrote on topics ranging from family tragedies to memorable school projects. "The next time you walk into this high school, you will have to pay admission," she said to laughs.

"I thank you for the memories left behind in the hallways and in the classrooms of Albany High School. Congratulations and you will be so missed class of 2022. "

Concert choir members performed "The Road Home." The Albany High School concert band also performed.

The diplomas were passed out by Principal Eric Bubna and Board Chair Don Winkels.
