Here Are The 13 Ballot Drop-Off Locations In Chesco

CHESTER COUNTY, PA — Chester County's Voter Services Office added 11 secure ballot drop-off locations and two satellite election offices for the 2020 General Election, most at public libraries.

The drop-off locations opened Oct. 13; all Chester County residents who choose to vote by mail-in or absentee ballot can return their completed ballot to one of the locations that include 10 libraries and the Chester County Government Services Center on Westtown Road in West Chester.

Voters have until Oct. 27 to formally request and receive a mail-in ballot in-person, though it is advised to do so as soon as possible.

Chester County posted on Facebook today, "Ballots are being mailed out now, which means that everyone who has requested a mail-in or absentee ballot will receive it soon, can complete it, and send it back to Chester County Voter Services LONG BEFORE Nov. 3."

The drop-off ballot boxes have secure, tamper-proof locks, the county said when it approved the locations in September. Security personnel will be positioned at each location, the county said.

Ballots are being collected every evening by assigned persons who must wear a body camera, Voter Services explained. Ballots are delivered to the Chester County Government Services Center where they are kept under 24-hour video surveillance until voting ends on Nov. 3.

Henrietta Hankin Library in Chester Springs, and the Oxford Public Library were named last month as satellite election offices in addition to the main Voter Services Office in West Chester. Completed mail-in ballots may be turned in at any of the three election offices, according to the Chester County Board of Elections.

Those choosing to vote in person on Nov. 3 may find their polling place here.

Chester County's polling places will be set up to ensure the maximum level of personal protection against COVID-19 for both poll workers and the voting public on Election Day, county Voter Services said.

This will include clearly mapped-out 6-foot social distancing while waiting to vote and while voting; plexiglass shields; hand sanitizer and hand washing facilities; provision of masks, gloves and sanitation kits for all poll workers; regular cleaning of pens and voting stations; and specialized disinfectant for scanning machines.
