WHO 13 political director Dave Price announces his departure from the station

Dave Price, WHO 13’s long-time political director, announced that he plans to depart the station after 22 years.

“Some personal news...After 22 years at WHO 13 (and it began with a two-year contract!), I've decided to find my ‘what's next.’ I'm so thankful to my colleagues for their teamwork and friendship, so grateful to viewers who trusted me...” he wrote on Twitter.

Price also serves as the station’s managing editor and WHO 13 Sunday evening news anchor. He also hosted and executive produced the Sunday community affairs show “The Insiders.”

The Belleville, Illinois, native graduated from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville and later worked at KMOX radio station in St. Louis. He went on to earn his master’s degree at the University of Missouri-Columbia, and remained in Columbia to work as the morning news anchor and assignments manager at KOMU-TV. From there, he moved to Montgomery, Alabama, to help launch WNCF-TV, where he served as weekend anchor and political reporter.

In 2001, Price began his career at WHO. During his tenure in Des Moines, he won a national Emmy, Edward R. Murrow and dozens of state and regional awards for his reporting, writing and anchoring. He has written two books: “Caucus Chaos” and “Caucus Chaos Trump.”

“I'm sure that I'll still be on TV from time to time and I'm even more sure that I remain committed to seeking solutions that make our communities stronger. I'm excited about what's ahead!” Price wrote on Twitter.
