The library said the program works in accordance with the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Meal Finder, which aims to ensure children receive the nutrition they need when schools are closed that they might have received from free or reduced-priced school meals. The program is supported by funding provided by the California State Library.
Summer Meal Site Finder mapping tool allows parents and community members to find meal distribution sites.
Those in need can also text “Summer Meals” to 914-342-7744 or call 866-348-6479 to find a site.
The meal must be consumed on-site, according to the library. No registration is required and drop-ins are welcome.
