$130,000 Natural State Jackpot ticket sold in Fort Smith, Hot Springs resident wins $25,000 in LOTTO

FORT SMITH, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — A Natural State Jackpot ticket worth $130,000 was sold at a gas station in Fort Smith and a Hot Springs resident is $25,000 richer, according to a news release from the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery.

The ticket was sold at the J-Mart on Midland Boulevard for the Jan. 31 drawing. The winning numbers were 1, 11, 14, 15 and 39.

The release says the winner has until July 29 to claim their prize.

Paul Price Jr., from Hot Springs, won a $25,000 lottery prize in the LOTTO drawing on Jan. 27.

He and his wife claimed the prize on Feb. 2. The winning ticket was sold in Hot Springs Village with the winning numbers 1, 5, 19, 34, 36 and 38 with Bonus Number 15.

He bought the ticket during a routine trip to the store but discovered the win when a broken traffic light sent him and his wife on a detour from a Walmart to another convenience store.

There, he asked his wife to go inside and scan the ticket.

Price said to ASL, “The lady behind the counter said, ‘You are a winner, but we can’t cash that here.’”

With the money, Paul said he plans to pay off some credit cards and bring electricity to their family boat deck.

With no one winning the top prize, the LOTTO jackpot is now at $955,000 for the drawing on Wednesday night.
