$136,000 raised for Round Rock school district programs

The Round Rock school district Partners in Education Foundation raised $136,000 for student programs on Oct. 3.

The money was raised during the foundation's 22nd Annual Golf Classic, which had 36 teams and 144 golfers.

“With the support of so many generous community partners and our Foundation Board members, we are truly blessed to have had a successful event,” said Marianne Reap, executive director of the foundation. “The funds raised allow the foundation to continue to support innovation in the classroom for all students and provide financial support for such programs as Happy Birthday bags for our families in transition, therapy puppies and additional district-wide programs that serve our students and teachers.”

Stantec was the title sponsor with a $10,000 donation.

Bartlett Cocke General Contractors, Dell Technologies, McCreary, Veselka, Bragg & Allen, PC, and HPM each contributed $5,000. Cunningham-Allen, Buckeye International, Kalahari/ Nelson Family Life Foundation Inc, PBK, and PlainsCapital Bank each contributed $2,500.

Additionally, $16,450 was contributed by Austin and Round Rock businesses and families.

The foundation, founded in 1985, encourages excellence in education through support of local businesses and community organizations. The foundation provides funds for innovative academic programs and rewarding exemplary teaching.
