14 area teams to play in CIF-SS girls water polo playoffs

Fourteen area girls water polo teams will compete in the CIF-Southern Section playoffs. Pairings were announced Saturday morning.

In Division 1, Marmonte League champion Oaks Christian (15-11) will host Santa Barbara in a first-round game Wednesday. Agoura (16-7), which finished second in the Marmonte League, will travel to Harvard-Westlake for a first-round game Wednesday.

In Division 2, Coastal Canyon League champion Camarillo (14-6) will host top-seeded Millikan in a first-round game Wednesday. Ventura (18-9), which finished fourth in the Channel League, will host Glendora in a wild-card game Tuesday. Westlake (17-12) will play at University in a wild-card game Tuesday.

In Division 3, Tri-Valley League champion Villanova Prep (20-5) will host top-seeded JSerra in a first-round game Tuesday.

In Division 4, Rio Mesa (13-11) plays at Alta Loma, Thousand Oaks (15-11) travels to Arcadia, Royal (21-6) will host Culver City, Buena (15-14) plays at Carpinteria, and Newbury Park (10-15) visits West Torrance in first-round games Tuesday.

In Division 5, Santa Paula (14-12) will play at Covina and Nordhoff (13-5) will host Warren in first-round games Tuesday.

Calabasas earned the top seed in Division 6, but since the Coyotes were an at-large entry from the Marmonte League, they will travel to Saddleback for a wild-card match Tuesday.

All playoff games are scheduled for 5 p.m.
