Whether you're looking for visits from celebrities like Elton John and Justin Bieber, Broadway performances such as "Hamilton" and "Hadestown" or local festivals like GDP, Des Moines has got you covered. Here are 14 of the most noteworthy local and touring events over the next few months.

Morgan Wallen ' The Dangerous' tour

Where: Wells Fargo Arena, 233 Center St.

Country singer Morgan Wallen, known for hits like "The Way I Talk," will come to Des Moines as part of his "Dangerous" tour with special guests Larry Fleet and Ernest, both fellow country performers.

Wallen previously played Des Moines in early 2020 when he was traveling with country artist Jason Aldean's "We Back Tour."

Tickets for this latest appearance range from $100.75 to $305.

The Righteous Brothers

Where: Hoyt Sherman Place, 1501 Woodland Ave.

The Righteous Brothers, Bill Medley and Bucky Heard, are coming to Hoyt Sherman Place on the final day of April.

The duo, originally comprised of Medley and the late Bobby Hatfield, is famous for songs like "Unchained Melody," and “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’," the latter of which was the most played radio song until 2019.

Tickets for the show can be purchased for $39.50, $59.50, $69.50 and $89.50.

Steve Martin and Martin Short

Where: Des Moines Civic Center, 221 Walnut St.

According to the name of Steve Martin and Martin Short's latest comedy tour, "You Won't Believe What They Look Like Today!"

Martin and Short are no strangers to collaborating in their performance. From the 1986 comedy "Three Amigos!" to the recent Hulu mystery-comedy series "Only Murders in the Building," the pair have decades of collaboration together.

Their latest appearance at the Des Moines Civic Center has tickets ranging from $79 to $230.

'Hamilton' touring show

The $10 Founding Father without a father is back again this spring as "Hamilton" returns to the Des Moines Civic Center.

"Hamilton" heavily infuses hip hop music into a traditional musical theater format in order to tell the story of the United States of America's first Secretary of the Treasury, Alexander Hamilton.

When the musical first came to Des Moines in 2018, it drew an estimated total of 65,000 attendees across 24 performances — the same number of performances the show is scheduled for now.

Tickets range in price from $59 to $229.

'Riverdance' — 25th anniversary

Date: June 10-12

Where: Des Moines Civic Center, 221 Walnut St.

"Riverdance" is among the productions that were scheduled to come to the Des Moines Civic Center in 2020 before COVID-19 hit Iowa. Now the production is finally getting to step back into the Hawkeye state at the end of spring.

"Riverdance" began its life as a Eurovision performance in the mid-’90s featuring choreographed traditional Irish dance. Within a few years, the showcase expanded into a two-hour show performed in America and hitting No. 1 on the Billboard World Music Chart.

The show has five performances in Des Moines, tickets for which range from $35 to $105.

New Kids on the Block 'The MixTape' tour

Date: June 12, 7 p.m.

Where: Wells Fargo Arena, 233 Center St.

The New Kids on the Block are back in town this June as the boy band that rose to fame in the 1990s, comes to Wells Fargo Arena with "The MixTape" tour. The group's appearance will include other acts like Salt-N-Pepa and Rick Astley as special guests.

New Kids on the Block has chart-toppers like "Hangin' Tough" and "Step by Step" in its catalog of songs. In 2020 the group released the single "House Party" with a music video that included Boyz II Men, Mark Wahlberg, Jordin Sparks and others.

Tickets for the performance Des Moines show are $29.95 to $159.95.

Buddy Guy

Date: June 15, 7:30 p.m.

Where: Hoyt Sherman Place, 1501 Woodland Ave.

One of the final shows of the spring comes from legendary blues guitarist Buddy Guy at Hoyt Sherman Place.

Across his storied career, Guy has produced songs like "Damn Right, I've Got the Blues," part of a 1991 album of the same name, and "The Blues Is Alive And Well," which is likewise the title track from his 2018 album.

The 85-year-old blues artist has recently been the subject of two documentaries, last year's “The Blues Chase The Blues Away” as part of PBS' "American Masters" series, and “The Torch,” which hit theaters on March 18.

Guy has appeared in Iowa before as recently as November of 2016 when he performed three shows across the state. Tickets for his latest show start at $55.
