14 Evansville-area high school marching bands to compete in semistates this weekend

Fourteen area high school marching bands will compete this week with one goal in mind: Earning a trip to the Nov. 5 state finals at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

Four sites − all in central Indiana − will host this week's Indiana State School Music Association semistate contests. A total of 20 schools compete in each class at semistate, with the top 10 in each class advancing to the state finals.

There are four classes, with schools categorized by enrollment. Class A is for the largest schools, while Class D is for the smallest schools. Classes B and C are the other two.

Here's when and where the Southwestern Indiana schools will perform on Saturday. All times are Central.

Class A at Ben Davis High School

  • Castle High School, 5:45 p.m.

Class B at Pike High School

  • Jasper High School, 4:45p.m.

  • North High School, 5 p.m.

  • Reitz High School, 5:15 p.m.

  • Harrison High School, 5:30 p.m.

Class C at Decatur Central

  • Princeton Comunity High School, 4:15 p.m.

  • Bosse High School, 5:15 p.m.

  • Mount Vernon High School, 5:30 p.m.

  • Boonville High School, 5:45 p.m.

Class D at Franklin Community High School

  • Forest Park High School, 2:15 p.m.

  • Southridge High School, 2:30 p.m.

  • Tell City High School, 4:15 p.m.

  • South Spencer High School, 5 p.m.

  • Mater Dei High School, 5:30 p.m.
