14 local high school marching bands qualify for ISSMA semistate round

Fourteen local high school marching bands qualified for the Indiana State School Music Association's semistate round with their performances Saturday in the regionals.

It was the first step of the ISSMA journey to the Oct. 28 state finals at Lucas Oil Field in Indianapolis. The semistate round takes place Oct. 21 at four different Indianapolis-area high schools.

Bands are divided by school enrollment size, with the biggest schools in Class A and the smallest in Class D, with those in between in classes B and C.

Here are the schools that qualified for ISSMA semistate, along with their locations and performance times for Oct. 21. All times are Central.

Class A (at Ben Davis High School, Indianapolis)

  • Castle - 1:30 p.m.

Class B (at Pike High School, Indianapolis)

  • Jasper - 2:15 p.m.

  • North - 4 p.m.

  • Harrison - 5 p.m.

  • Reitz - 5:15 p.m.

Class C (at Decatur Central High School)

  • Southridge - 1 p.m.

  • Vincennes Lincoln - 3:15 p.m.

  • Princeton - 4:15 p.m.

  • Mount Vernon - 5:15 p.m.

  • Boonville - 5:30 p.m.

Class D (at Franklin Community High School)

  • Forest Park - 1:45 p.m.

  • Tell City - 4:15 p.m.

  • South Spencer - 5:15 p.m.

  • Mater Dei - 5:30 p.m.
