15-year-old wanted for murder in connection to 14-year-old shooting death at Cedarwood Apts.

RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. (WJBF) – A 15 year-old is wanted for murder in connection to a 14-year-old who died after a shooting incident according to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

The 14-year-old has been identified as Anthony Harris of Evans, Ga.

Authorities say the incident happened on Tuesday, April 30th at the Cedarwood Apartments on West Richmond Hill Road.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded at 7:50 P.M. in reference to shots being fired, and when they arrived, officers say they located Anthony who was shot at least one time and had succumbed to his injury. Anthony was pronounced dead at 8:30 Tuesday night.

According to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, Darryaun La’Kendrick Tanksley, 15, is wanted, and there is an active arrest warrant for Murder issued for him.

Authorities describe Tanksley as being 5’8″ and weighing 130 pounds, and investigators say that he is known to frequent the 500 block of Richmond Hill Road W and the Barton Village neighborhood.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Darryaun Tanksley is considered Armed and Dangerous.

According to the incident report, investigators state that one apartment was struck by gunfire but the resident was not at the time of the shooting, and another apartment was struck but those residents were inside of that residence.
