15,000 households to be affected by new trash, recycling schedule in Dayton

Dayton will change its trash and recycling pickup schedule near the end of March. The change is expected to affect 15,000 households.

The new schedule will affect certain home’s trash collection days, while others will see a change to their recycling collection week. However, some will experience changes to both.

The changes come after city officials performed an extensive review of the city’s trash and recycling collection routes and services, Dayton’s Director of Public Works Fred Stovall informed.

“The changes are expected to help us increase collection efficiencies by allowing us to re-balance the route sizes to better serve residents,” Stovall said.

Dayton is expected to send out notices to all residents on March 13; however, the new schedule is expected to begin March 27.

Residents will be able to find the new schedule online starting March 13 on their website.
