15-month-old toddler found by family dies in Bradenton pool drowning

A 15-month-old toddler staying with his family at a vacation rental home died in a Bradenton drowning incident on Wednesday.

Bradenton Police officers said that the drowning happened at 4:15 p.m. at a home in the 2800 block of 23rd Avenue W. A family member found the child unresponsive in a residential pool and pulled him out of the water. The family was visiting from Arkansas.

Despite life-saving measures by EMS responders and Blake Hospital doctors, the child died shortly after 5 p.m.

The drowning appears to be accidental, police officials said, but an investigation is still ongoing.
