15-year-old Plainview boy run over at party, in critical condition

PLAINVIEW — A 15-year-old Plainview boy is in critical condition in a Lubbock hospital after he was hit by a car early Monday morning.

The Plainview Police Department said officers responded to reports of a person struck by a vehicle in the 3400 block of Navajo Trail around 2 a.m. Monday, the Plainview Herald reported. When officers arrived, they found a group of "frantic" teenagers who told them a fight started at a party nearby. Witnesses said a black vehicle drove into the crowd and ran over the boy, police told the Herald.

The teen was driven in a private vehicle to Covenant Hospital Plainview and later transferred to a Lubbock hospital, where he remains in critical condition, according to the report. PPD said they have identified suspects and asks anyone with information or video to call the department at 806-296-1182.
