Okay, there's just a little bit more honey news. I found a lot of cool stuff when I was reporting last week on local honey. Welcome back to the Dining letter where I talk about honey and sometimes other food. Let's dive in!

Honey Depot — A local honey farm is planning to open five new coffee shops, selling  small-batch roasted coffee and Kentucky Proud honey products. The first one opens in Mt. Washington soon.

Small place, big heart — What's your favorite old-timey cafe in Louisville? Courier Journal contributor Lennie Omalza visited Shady Lane Cafe recently and met owners Carol Reeves and Satbir Singh, who took over the cafe just before the pandemic began. Shady Lane Cafe is known for its 1/3 pound beef burger, Rueben. BLT and cranberry Granny Smith Apple and pecan salad -- plus 12 homemade cakes.

Bourbon Live — Three Lexington entrepreneurs are using a 48-seat theater and three walls to tell the story of Kentucky's favorite spirit. It's not a bar or a tour, but a show. The tech-forward experience is a great alternative for often-sold-out distillery tours.

Shively Food Park — A resident of Shively hopes to solve the area's food desert problem by promoting fresh food access and green spaces to grow food. The goal is to create a community food park that can feed thousands while also cultivating community.
