Wilson Cruz has been a Hollywood heartthrob from the start of his career on My So-Called Life up until his LGBTQ+ history-making role on Star Trek: Discovery. As an out gay actor, he has also brought a lot of representation to our community by starring in major projects.
Cruz’s credits include films like Joyride, Party Monster, and He’s Just Not That Into You and Broadway productions like Rent and Tik, Tik… BOOM!. On television, Cruz has appeared on shows such as The West Wing, Noah’s Arc, ER, NCIS, The Closer, Grey’s Anatomy, Red Band Society, Shameless, and EastEnders.
In 2017 alone, Cruz landed the roles of Dennis Vasquez on Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why and Hugh Culber on Paramount+’s Star Trek: Discovery. Now, the actor is set to star in the fifth and final season of Star Trek: Discovery, which will air in 2024.
