158 new COVID-19 cases reported in county on Saturday

Apr. 4—Luzerne County has 158 new positive COVID-19 cases and four new deaths, according to information provided Saturday by the state's Department of Health.

The county has 27,434 positive cases and the death toll is 769.

To date, 37,604 county residents have received partial vaccinations and 62,912 have received full vaccinations. To date, about 19.5% of Luzerne County residents have been fully vaccinated and 31.7% of residents have gotten at least one vaccine dose.

Statewide there are 5,343 additional cases, bringing the total to 1,038,749.

The state reported 40 new deaths and the death toll is now 25,188.

There are 2,173 patients currently hospitalized in the state, 433 adult patients are in ICU and 204 require the use of a ventilator.

In Pennsylvania, 3,694,176 residents have received a partial vaccine and 1,960,809 have been fully vaccinated.

Availability may vary based on supplies and the map only includes providers who have recently received first-dose vaccines.

A location represented with a circle is a provider receiving an allocation of vaccine from the state; a location represented with a diamond is a provider receiving an allocation from the federal government through the retail pharmacy program.

* CVS in the Midway Shopping Center in Wyoming and in Exeter provide drivethru testing and can be scheduled by visiting cvs.com.
