The Academy of Country Music continues to honor country music's best and brightest stars on August 24 at the Ryman Auditorium with an event that serves as an extension of the yearly Academy of Country Music Awards.

Via a press release, Academy of Country Music CEO Damon Whiteside noted that the event would "celebrate the achievements of artists, musicians, and industry executives that have made a positive impact on the industry during the prior year or over their careers."

City National Bank is the presenting partner of the evening. Performers, host, and ticket on-sale information will be announced in the coming weeks.

Most significantly, the event will be highlighted by Miranda Lambert receiving the legendary ACM Triple Crown Award. This follows her March victory for ACM Entertainer of the Year at the 57th Academy of Country Music Awards, which qualifies -- alongside winning awards for ACM Top New Female Vocalist and ACM Female Vocalist of the Year -- her for the prize. She joins Jason Aldean, Brooks & Dunn, Kenny Chesney, Mickey Gilley, Merle Haggard, Barbara Mandrell, and Carrie Underwood in receiving the honor.

The Big Loud Records-affiliated singer-songwriter tandem of Morgan Wallen and HARDY will receive the ACM Milestone and Songwriter of the Year awards, respectively. HARDY has penned 11 No. 1 singles since 2018, including multiple songs ("More Than My Hometown" and "Sand in My Boots") from Morgan Wallen's "Dangerous: The Double Album," which won ACM Album of the Year in 2022.

As for Wallen, the country performer's eye-opening recent run of success includes his previously mentioned, just-awarded ACM Album of the Year, achieving 15 consecutive months in the top 10 on the Billboard 200 all-genre chart and at No. 1 on the Top Country Albums chart. It also has sold more than 4.1 million units, leading to his 55-show “The Dangerous Tour selling” nearly one million tickets in 2022.

The ACM's Spirit Award will be given to Chris Stapleton. Much like Merle Haggard, the 8-time Grammy and 13-time ACM Award-winner who the award honors, Stapleton has, according to a press release, "[followed] his/her own path, crafting great songs, and epitomizing Haggard’s spirit through genuine performances and great storytelling."

The Paramount network program "Yellowstone" will also receive the ACM Film Award, which recognizes an outstanding television movie, series, or feature film released during the preceding calendar year which prominently features country music. Notably, Zach Bryan, Hayes Carll, Turnpike Troubadours, Whiskey Myers, and Lainey Wilson have all had their music featured in the show.

Sonny Throckmorton, a songwriter for Tree Publishing Co. and a Mercury Records recording artist, shows off his "Middle Age Crazy" T-shirt outside of Phonogram Inc. on Music Row on July 31, 1979. Hollywood producer Marty Kroft heard Throckmorton's 1977 hit "Middle Age Crazy" and decided to make a movie from it starring Bruce Dern and Ann-Margret. Kroft has since asked Throckmorton to write several more songs for the movie, including the closing song.

Shania Twain and Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame member Sonny Throckmorton will receive the ACM Poet’s Award for their "outstanding and longstanding musical and/or lyrical contributions throughout their career, with special consideration given to a song or songs’ impact on the culture of country music."

Throckmorton is a multiple-time Songwriter of the Year award winner with 1,000 songs recorded by artists including Ray Charles, Merle Haggard, Alan Jackson, The Judds, George Strait and Tanya Tucker.

Shania Twain is the first artist in music history to release three consecutive diamond-certified albums and is the top-selling female country artist of all time. She also was the 1999 winner of the ACM's Entertainer of the Year award.

As for other expected highlights on August 24, Paul Barnabee and Dwight Wiles will receive the Lifting Lives Award for their work with the ACM's COVID-19 Response Fund. Plus, Duane Clark will be honored with the ACM Service Award for his work in the industry's financial sector as business manage, adviser and co-owner of the firm of Flood, Bumstead, McCready & McCarthy, Inc. (FBMM) for over a decade.

Studio Recording Award and Industry Award winners will also be feted at the event. These will include Audio Engineer of the Year, Bass Player of the Year, Casino of the Year, Drummer of the Year, Electric Guitar Player of the Year, Fair/Rodeo of the Year, Piano/Keyboards Player of the Year, Producer of the Year, Specialty Instrument(s) Player of the Year, and Theater of the Year.
