16 indicted on racketeering charges in Washington Parish

WASHINGTON PARISH, La. (WGNO) — A grand jury indicted 16 people on Tuesday, Feb. 6, on a racketeering charge.

The Office of Interim District Attorney Collin Sims reported that 15 men and one woman were indicted by a Washington Parish grand jury in connection to a racketeering investigation led by multiple agencies.

Bogalusa man, woman indicted on murder charge

The group was accused following an investigation conducted by the district attorney’s office, the U.S. Department of Justice’s Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office, the Bogalusa Police Department and other agencies.

Court documents allege that the individuals operated a gun and drug distribution network in Washington and St. Tammany parishes.

The following people were indicted for allegedly participating in a racketeering enterprise between Jan. 1, 2017, and Nov. 13, 2023:

  • Trveion Mark, 27

  • Mark Amos IV, 25

  • Demarquiez Devon Harris, 28

  • Kelzon Clark, 30

  • Kenyatta G. Scott, Jr., 26

  • Dakeithan D. Matthews, 28

  • Sheylyn J. Griffin, 26

  • Jamar Mcgowan, 30

  • Trevonne L. Mingo, 28

  • Brittany N. Mayes, 37

  • Georgia Carlos J. Walker, 34

  • Ja’vontay Marquese Owens, 30

  • Caleb R. Allen, 21

  • Tylar R. Redditt, 23

  • Markus K. Mark, 28

  • Jakeithon Trevon Smith, 21

The interim district attorney’s office reported that Trveion Mark was also indicted on charges of second-degree murder, second-degree kidnapping, possession of schedule II drugs and obstruction of justice by tampering with evidence.

It is also alleged that some members participated in “acts of murder; attempted murder; solicitation to commit murder; kidnapping; illegal possession and trafficking of firearms; distribution of controlled dangerous substances; possession of controlled dangerous substances with the intent to distribute; money laundering; and obstruction of justice.”
