KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — Friday marks 16 years since Taylor Swift played a show at Western Michigan University’s Miller Auditorium.

These days, when Swift makes a tour stop in Michigan, she tends to play Ford Field in Detroit. But on Feb. 2, 2008, she took the stage in Kalamazoo.

WMU commemorated the anniversary with a Facebook post, complete with photos from the night.

“A rare case you’ll see us publish iPhone photography circa 2008 but it’s a special occasion,” the university wrote.

She had already broken records, according to a WMU news release from the time: Swift was the youngest artist to write and sing a No. 1 country single — “Our Song” — on her own, as well as the youngest musician to win Songwriter/Artist of the Year from the Nashville Songwriters Association International.

Ticket prices for the Kalamazoo concert ranged from $34.25 to $40.75.
