16th Annual Empty Bowls raises record amount for Lynchburg Daily Bread

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR)– The Academy of the Arts reports the 16th Annual Empty Bowl event raised a record $11,350 for Lynchburg Daily Bread.

For the past year, Academy potters have been preparing handmade bowls and vases for this beloved event. This year, they reported over 460 bowls out of 570 bowls donated were sold during the event.

Beyond ticket and bowl sales, additional funds were raised through donations and the sale of vases, also donated by Acadamey Potters and filled with floral arrangements provided by Bloom.

The Academy presented the check to Lynchburg Daily Bread at their location on Clay St. on Wednesday, April 10.

The Academy thanks the businesses who donated their time, talents, and wares for this fundraiser.
