17-year-old arrested in connection to shooting at Pittsburg BART Station

(KRON) — A 17-year-old male suspect was arrested in connection to Friday’s shooting at the Pittsburg Center BART Station, the BART Police Department announced Tuesday. The suspect, who surrendered to BART PD detectives in Walnut Creet at around 10:30 a.m., is believed to be the only suspect in the shooting.

He will be booked into Contra Costa County Juvenile Hall, according to BART police. He was identified using video from one of the 4,000 surveillance cameras located throughout the BART system, police said.

Two people were injured in Friday’s shooting, one critically, according to BART.
