18-year-old in critical condition after being shot in southwest Rochester

A city teen shot in southwest Rochester Wednesday suffered life-threatening injuries, according to Rochester police.

An 18-year-old boy was shot on Flint Street, near Jefferson Avenue, around 7 p.m. and walked into Strong Memorial Hospital seeking medical treatment, said Lt. Eric Ferguson of the Rochester Police Department. Officers were alerted of the shooting via Shot Spotter.

The teen, who was shot at least once in the upper body, was listed in critical but stable condition Wednesday night, Ferguson said.

No charges have been filed in connection with the incident. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call 911.
