ELMIRA, N.Y. (WETM) – The 18 Sports Blitz is back with another big night of high school and college sports.
The 18 Sports Blitz returned with a busy night of action on the basketball court and on the ice. In high school hoops the Elmira boys rolled past Corning 76-55, despite 26 points from Nolyn Proudfoot. Chris Woodard led the Express with 21 points, while Tyre Daniel scored 14. Also in boys hoops, Elmira Notre Dame bested Whitney Point and Waverly took another victory in Chenango Valley. On the girls side, Horseheads beat Waverly and Edison’s Payton Littlefield led the Spartans to victory with 26 points. Elsewhere in the section, Watkins Glen rolled past Dryden and Tioga fell to Harpursville.
On the college scene, Elmira College women’s hockey claimed another shutout win on the road, while the EC men fell to Skidmore at home. On the court, Tyler Cardello’s 33 points led the Soaring Eagles men to a win over Hartwick. On the women’s side, Elmira College fell to Hartwick despite a combined 33 points from Nevaeh Winston and Laura Bogota.
