LUXEMBURG - Authorities have identified a 19-year-old Green Bay man who died after he was thrown from his vehicle in a Christmas Eve crash in western Kewaunee County.

The crash occurred about 7:20 p.m. Dec. 24 when, according to witnesses, a northbound 1998 Buick sedan driven by Kyle R. Barr went out of control at the intersection of Kewaunee County highways V and N.

The car hit a utility pole, knocking power lines to the ground. First responders were unable to get to the vehicle immediately because the lines were blocking access to the site, so Wisconsin Public Service Corp. employees removed the downed lines, according to the Kewaunee County Sheriff's Department. Power was out in a limited area around the site but restored in about an hour.

Barr was thrown from the car in the crash and pronounced dead at the scene, the department said.
