Good morning, just wanted to let you know that your living room needs this £195 armchair from Habitat.

The Celine style is an Instagram dream; upholstered in durable polyester velvet with a high reclined back and foam-filled seat cushion, it’s the kind of armchair that you’ll want to curl up in (or drape your clothes across and never sit in, but that's none of my business).

Contemporary and elegant with black metal legs, it’s perfect for smaller spaces, and is available in four colourways. You can’t go wrong with the muted pink or versatile grey but if you want to inject a bold pop of colour go for the sumptuous teal blue or – our favourite – the divine navy blue.

The accent chairs have been flying off the shelves since launching this month, and available at a lower price point under £200, it’s a steal.

"On its launch week alone we’ve sold just over 100 of these designs - becoming one of our fastest selling armchairs in the collection - with soft pink and teal blue velvets currently the most popular colour options," Eleanor Davies, Senior Buyer for Furniture & Upholstery at Habitat told House Beautiful UK.

"Customers are loving the mix of the tailored velvet contours with strong, skinny black metal legs which gives it a modern edge and are also an excellent option for small spaces as these allow for light to flow around the design creating a sense of more space."

While you can buy Celine from Habitat in-store or online, you can also shop the armchair via Argos (both Habitat and Argos are part of the Sainsbury's Group), where a glorious green colourway is available to buy alongside the pink, grey and blue.

Typically, velvet is a material associated with an expensive price tag, but designs like Celine aim to offer customers an affordable option.

Eleanor says Habitat's build quality has given customers "the confidence to buy into these lower price-point designs as they know they are buying into a long-lasting design that is going to withstand everyday life".

She adds: "We’ve also made these chairs available for delivery within 3-5 days to cater for customers who want “design on demand” which is proving particularly popular for those looking for quick room updates or starter furniture for new homes."
