1st March St. Patrick's Parade Set For Ronkonkoma Since COVID-19

RONKONKOMA, NY — The first March St. Patrick's Day parade in Ronkonkoma since the COVID-19 pandemic has been planned for March 27, according to the parade committee's Facebook page.

The 31st annual parade will step off at 2 p.m. with Grand Marshal Gerry McMenamin leading the line of march at Patchogue -Holbrook Road and Portion Road.

"Let’s make it the best one yet," wrote an organizer on Facebook recently.

Deputy grand marshals include Rich Mancuso and Charlie Vanek of the Lakeland and Ronkonkoma fire departments, respectively. Heather Hemberger-Poli, Gee Amigon, and Deborah "Sugar" Desimone will serve as ambassadors.

The parade committee is "currently in fundraising mode," according to its Facebook page.

A dinner featuring Sandy the Psychic Medium will be held at Knights of Columbus Hall in Ronkonkoma on Thursday. Tickets are $50.


A Sunday brunch and Chinese auction have been planned for Feb. 6 at Flanagan's Pub in Lake Ronkonkoma. Tickets are $20. There will also be a Grand Marshal's Ball at Windows on the Lake in Ronkonkoma on Feb. 26. Tickets are $125 per person.
