Power restored for Meridian Township residents

MERIDIAN TWP. — Power was restored Friday to about 2,000 homes and businesses that were out of power for several hours on the east side of Lansing, according to a Consumers Energy outage tracker.

The outage spanned from Grand River Avenue to south of Interstate 96, from Dobie Road to Meridian Road.

The outage included traffic lights at Hamilton and Dobie Road as well as Grand River and Cornell roads, according to a notice from Ingham County Central Dispatch.

The cause was listed by Consumers Energy as trees.
