2 arrested on drug, child cruelty charges after deputies find 6-month-old baby unrestrained in car
A North Carolina couple was arrested on drug and child cruelty charges after deputies pulled them over and found a 6-month-old baby in the car unrestrained and drugs in the car.

Towns County deputies said they were doing a routine safety check in the Gumlog area on March 23 when a K-9 alerted on a vehicle.
Amber Lynn Rogers, 27, and Brett Andrew McCray, 32, were in the car. The couple is from North Carolina.

Deputies searched the car and confiscated methamphetamine. The car also tested positive for fentanyl and marijuana.
They also found a six-month-old baby who was not in a car seat.

Both Rogers and McCray were charged with several felony drug charges and felony cruelty to children.
The baby was turned over to family members.
