2 New Businesses Coming To Greenwich Avenue

GREENWICH, CT — Two new businesses are set to join the roster of restaurants and shops along Greenwich Avenue.

Marx Realty announced this week that Sweetgreen, a health-conscious salad chain, and Eleventy, an Italian luxury clothing brand, have both signed to new locations at the company's building, located at 98-102 Greenwich Avenue. (To sign up for Greenwich breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

In a statement, Marx officials said Sweetgreen signed a 10-year, 3,100-square-foot lease, while Eleventy signed a short-term, 2,125-square-foot lease. The new locations will mark both companies' first locations in Connecticut.

"We are thrilled to welcome both Sweetgreen and Eleventy to a fantastic new location in Greenwich," Marx Realty CEO Craig Deitelzweig said in a statement. "On top of being surrounded by numerous national retailers along Greenwich Avenue, both properties are on a high-pedestrian traffic area and also offer the option to set up outdoor seating, especially key as we continue to navigate the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic."

Marx Realty was represented in-house on both deals by Henry Henderson, the comapny's vice president of leasing. Sweetgreen was represented by Jacqueline Klinger of the Shopping Center Group, while Eleventy was represented by Davie Berke of JLL.

The asking rent was $120 per square foot for both, according to Marx Realty.

"I am happy to see that Greenwich Avenue remains attractive to businesses looking to establish a presence in the region, specifically here in downtown Greenwich," First Selectman Fred Camillo said in an email to Patch. "I look forward to welcoming [both businesses] to town, and wish them both much success."

Sweetgreen's new Greenwich Avenue location is expected to open later this summer, Marx officials said. The health-conscious salad chain was founded in 2007 and currently operates in 100 locations throughout 10 states.

Eleventy's new Greenwich store will officially open Aug. 15. According to the announcement, the company's short-term lease will enable Eleventy to set up a pop-up store in Greenwich with potential for becoming a permanent fixture in the area with a long-term deal.
